Marjory R. Moran, an attorney, public relations executive, and early feminist, died on Thursday at her home in Pompano Beach, Florida. She was 91.

Although she was recently diagnosed with lung cancer, Ms. Moran died of natural causes before the cancer began to effect her, said her son, James H. Wyman.

Ms. Moran was born Marjory Patricia Lindroth in Brooklyn, New York. Her father, Charles A. Lindroth, a decorated World War I veteran, died in the Wall Street bombing of September 16, 1920, seven months before she was born.

Her mother, the former Madeline Denig, was remarried to Herbert H. Rogge, who eventually became president of Canadian Westinghouse and the American Car and Foundry Division of ACF Industries. Ms. Moran was adopted by Mr. Rogge, and subsequently became known as Marjory P. Rogge.

Ms. Moran attended Hempstead High School in Long Island, and was graduated in 1943 from Wellesley College, with a bachelor's degree in English composition. In 1942, she married Oliver A. Wyman, Jr.

Soon after having her fourth child in 1957, Ms. Moran entered the workplace and eventually found a position in the public relations department of Worthington Corporation.

A working mother at a time when few women worked outside of the home, Ms. Moran divorced her husband in 1963. She frequently battled with the public school authorities in Summit, New Jersey, over the failure to provide cafeterias in the local elementary school, which provided only a rudimentary lunch room for children to bring bagged lunches.

In 1966, Ms. Moran married Gerard R. Moran, a law professor. In 1967, shortly after Worthington became known as Studebaker Worthington Corporation, she was named director of public relations.

Ms. Moran left Studebaker Worthington in 1971 to study law at Rutgers University - Newark, where she was a member of the law review. After obtaining her juris doctor degree in 1974, she clerked with Justice Worrall F. Mountain on the New Jersey Supreme Court.

Ms. Moran was a member of both the New Jersey and New York state bar associations. In 1976, she became an associate in the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in Manhattan, where she worked in mergers and acquisitions. Her husband died in 1979. In 1981, she became associate general counsel at Colombia University.

A resident of Manhattan, Ms. Moran retired to Greenwich, Connecticut, in 1985, and subsequently purchased a second home in Osprey, Florida, south of Sarasota. In 1992, she moved to Florida to live full time. In 2002, she moved to Aventura in Miami-Dade County, and in 2006 moved to Pompano Beach.

Ms. Moran is survived by three sons and a daughter, Michael T. Wyman, a software developer in Boca Raton, Florida, Meredith A. Gatschet, a graphic designer in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, Nicholas A. Wyman, an actor and the president of Actors Equity in New York City, and James H. Wyman, an appellate attorney in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She is also survived by seven grandchildren.

A memorial service for Ms. Moran will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 1, 2012, at the auditorium at John Knox Village, 651 Village Drive, Pompano Beach, Florida. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Kraeer Funeral Home, 200 North Federal Highway, Pompano Beach, Florida.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Ms. Foundation for Women.
