Erdely, Lillian, 84, of Pompano Beach Fl passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side on Good Friday, April 03, 2015 after having waged a valiant battle throughout an extended illness. Poet Dylan Thomas penned "Do not go gently into that good Night, Rage, Rage against the dying of the Light". Strong of will, that is exactly what Lillian did. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Sandra (Don) Lawrence Lighthouse Pt Fl , Linda King Pompano Beach Fl, and 2 grandsons: Tony King and Adam King-her pride and joy. Tall and athletic in her youth, Lillian excelled in all sports particularly basketball, softball, bowling and swimming and had the Letters on her sweater to prove it. A fine student, her promising career in Nursing was put on hold as she unselfishly cared for her mother throughout a terminal illness. Lillian married her childhood sweetheart, our father Les, and they were life long partners of 60 years, side by side through home building, homemaking, parenting, and several successful rental properties. Her green thumb was legendary and her flower gardens burst with color in every season. She could garden and mow lawns with the best of them and never shied away from hard work. She raised us girls to be the same. When she wasn't running circles around everyone else she enjoyed reading and card playing-more than likely she would win. An accomplished cook and amazing seamstress she created many of her own designs.. Drapes and upholstery? Prom dress? No problem! Everywhere you looked was a remarkable expression of her creativity. Thank you Mom & Dad for such a normal childhood where we always felt safe and warm and so very loved. Where we always felt we mattered. We know you are together again, this time for eternity. We miss you so keenly and shall always feel your love surrounding us.
In keeping with Lillian's wishes not to have "any fuss" it was her request that no formal arrangements are to be made. It is suggested that those family and friends who wish to remember her may do so by making a donation to their favorite charity in her name.
