Lester Stephen Wright

Lester Stephen “Steve” Wright, 67, of Pompano Beach, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017. Steve was born in Ft. Pierce, Florida, November 13, 1949, to his parents Lester and RuthAnne (Harper) Wright.

Steve grew up in Pompano Beach, Florida, and graduated from Pompano Beach High School in 1967 Steve continued his education at Middle Tennessee State University and graduated with a degree in entomology. After graduating, it wasn’t long before he started his own business, ABCO Pest Control which he has proudly owned and operated for over 40 years.

Steve had a love for the outdoors, which was reflected in his passion for piloting his plane, riding motorcycles, skiing, and camping. In addition, he was a gifted mechanic. He thoroughly enjoyed working on cars, computers, and anything that needed fixing. Steve was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Pompano Beach. It was there, that he met his greatest passion in life, his wife of 28 years, Valerie (Miller) Wright.

Steve is survived by his wife Valerie Wright, daughters Kelly Wright (Dorian) and Nicole Larson (Zack), granddaughters Kendall and Callie Larson, his mother, RuthAnn White (Gerold), his sister Donna Thompson (Buddy) and nephews Ryon Thompson (Traci) and Brad Thompson (Dana). He is preceded in death by his father, Lester Wyatt Wright.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 11, at First Baptist Church of Pompano Beach. A viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Children's Ministry of First Baptist Church of Pompano Beach.
