She was born to Montesco and Carolyn Johnson in Plant City, the third of three daughters. She graduated from Plant City High School and the Mound Park Hospital School of Nursing in St. Petersburg. She became an RN and married her high school sweetheart, Richard Albert (Dick) Mohler, Sr. They lived in Lakeland and Pompano Beach, FL, raising four children, who survive her; Richard Albert Mohler, Jr. (Mary), of Louisville, KY, Jan Mohler Knight, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Lee R. Mohler (Chrissy), of Boynton Beach, FL, and Mark R. Mohler (Marlisa), of Melbourne, FL. She is also survived by one sister, Maribeth Sizemore (Jack) of Plant City, sister-in-law Ann Mohler, also of Plant City, seven nieces and nephews, and by her seven grandchildren, Katie Mohler Barnes (Riley), Christopher Mohler, Joey Knight, Matthew Mohler, Jordyn Mohler, Lauren Mohler, and Kaylie Mohler, and by two great-grandsons, Benjamin Barnes and Henry Barnes.
Janet was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Pompano Beach. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister Carolyn Merritt, as well as by her loving husband, who died in 2013.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and she was greatly loved by her family. “Her children rise up and call her blessed.” Proverbs 31:28.
Due to COVID restrictions, the funeral will be limited to family.
