James Stephen Welch “Truck”, 62, of Oakland Park, Florida, passed away at home on August 14, 2020. Jim was born on September 14, 1957 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to the late Edwin W. and Janis A. (Rush) Welch. After graduation he began his employment years doing almost every boy’s dream of working for a “big” rock band, Freshara, with the lighting and sound crew and as the ”Truck” driver. He eventually moved to Pompano Beach, Florida to try his hand at landscaping and horticulture. He then drove a travel lift and was grounds manager for Giannoni Marina and the Aqua Toy Store. He drifted on to Key West for many years and was employed with Garrison Bight Marina, Oceanside Marina, Kings Point Marina and Home Depot. Always ready to ride his beloved Harley, he was a loyal, generous friend. Jim leaves his sister, Jade (Bear-Welch) Passmore (John), Marysville, Indiana, one nephew, Chris Reiter, two nieces, Katie Matarelli (Robert); Nicole Bierman (Joe); and two grand-nephews, Landon and Tristan, all of Indiana.
