It is with great sadness that the family of James "Jimmy" Stanley Rourke, 65, of Coconut Creek, FL announces his passing on January 6, 2018 at VITAS Hospice at Ft. Lauderdale Health & Rehabilitation Center. Born July 30, 1952 in Glens Falls, NY, he was one of four children born to the late James Rourke and Marilyn (Mickle) Rourke. He graduated from South Glens Falls High School in June of 1971 and settled in South Florida working in the pest control business. He worked for All Florida Pest Control for the last 10 years, most recently as Vice President. He will forever be missed by his two sons, Shawn Rourke and Kyle Rourke of Coconut Creek, FL and their mother Lisa (Morris) Rourke of Pompano Beach, FL. He is survived by sisters, Maureen (Rourke) Breault, of Kennewick, Washington, and Barbara (Rourke) Sorbello (Michael Felt) of Houston, Texas; brother, David (Matilda) Rourke of Howell, New Jersey and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jimmy touched the lives of so many people with his never-ending smile, generosity, friendship, and thirst for life and adventure. He loved spending time with his two sons and enjoyed the summers in Upstate New York with lifelong friends and family visiting his favorite places; Lake George, Glen Lake, and the Saratoga Springs area. Friends and family are invited to attend funeral services on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Kraeer Funeral Home, 200 N. Federal Highway, Pompano Beach, FL. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Upstate New York.
