Esther is survived by her grandsons, Cesar (Linda), Edward, and Gerald (Allison), and her great-grandchildren, Samantha and Ethan. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfonso Vazquez, and her daughter, Faith Del Campo.
Esther was born on February 22, 1913 in Batabano, Cuba, to Micaela Molin and Juan Negrin. She studied journalism and subsequently worked as a reporter in Havana. She married Jose Olaechea in 1933, and the couple had a daughter, Faith Ada. She later remarried the love of her life, Alfonso Vazquez, in 1945. Esther immigrated from Cuba to New York in 1965 to be with her daughter, grandchildren and extended family.
Esther was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Esther was a caring, compassionate woman who was deeply committed to her faith and family. Most of all, she cherished laughing and sharing stories with her loved ones. Her friends and family will always remember her as an unparalleled cook, and as an incredible, fiercely spirited woman with a wonderful sense of humor.
A visitation for Esther will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Kraeer Funeral Home, 200 West Copans Road, Pompano Beach, FL 33064. A funeral service will occur Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 200 West Copans Road, Pompano Beach, FL 33064. A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 200 West Copans Road, Pompano Beach, FL 33064.
