Dear Carole Sue, Nora, Thomas and family, Eric was a fine gentleman.  I worked for him, as a bus driver, in the early 2000s.  Having an abundance of energy, he worked tirelessly in the service of others.  A charismatic leader, courageous US Marine Corps officer and dedicated airline pilot, he exemplified the battle cry, “Make it happen!”  His love for country and respect for the flag were surpassed by no other.  As a former petty officer in the US Navy, I salute you brother.  We’ll meet again in His Everlasting Kingdom.  We count you among our “Sons of Liberty.”  

I just want to express my condolence to
the Farrell Family. I was a employee of Farrell Transportation and enjoyed working for a kind man who always complemented me for doing a good job.
I will miss Mr Eric Farrell. There should be more men like him. God bless

Eric (Ric) was one of a kind. A very good friend, pilot and Marine Officer. We abided by "Farrell's Rules" when paying the bill after dining or running up a tab! (No matter what you had, you paid your equal share.) Ric always had a smile. When things did not work out great he would just shrug it off. We met around 1970 and did not always agree but were always friends. Ric would always respond to any request for help. About a year and half ago asked Ric if there was anything he wanted to do as he knew what was coming; his answer: No, I think I have done it all.

We are so sorry for your loss. You asked to share a story so here's one I talk about often. I worked for Eric for I'm guessing 7 years first as a driver then office manager. I truly had no sense of direction be it mileage or time of travel. He would get so mad at me we would end up in nose to nose fighting!  He would stomp out of the office!  I was in tears!  But,,,,,I knew within the hour there would be a flower delivery to my desk,,,,,he was my "work husband"!  Carole would get such a kick out of the episodes!  My husband and I had a great time with them !

Eric's passing has saddened our entire family.  Uncle Eric has been a part of our lives for so many years, and we still enjoy hearing Jim talk about his days at BC with Eric. Can we ever forget the fun we had and the "stunts" he pulled. He lived life to it's fullest and a world without him is definitely dimmer.  Lee and Jim Cunningham

I was lucky enough to meet Nora, and then, as it is customary in the Farrell household, to be welcomed as a part of the family each time I went to the Farrell's home.  Mr. Farrell always had a hug for me and that amazing smile.  After one of the dinners I enjoyed there, I watched as Mr. Farrell put the dishes in the dishwasher, ensuring that each item had its proper place. I was impressed how Colonel Farrell not only helped with dishes, but actually would not want anyone else doing it incorrectly .  I am sending my love to the entire family.  Thank you for giving me an opportunity to be part of your world, and allowing me to experience the Farrell's kindness and generosity.

So sorry to hear of erics passing.eric was a good person and a good boss. 
he has been missed by many of his empolyees including myself.One of a kind indeed. My condolences to his wife carol  who is also missed by all farrell people that had the pleasure to know her and to his 2 children that he loved very much. I will keep you all in my prayers.

Eric was a great guy and a great friend we had a lot of fun with Eric and Carol over the years going to miss him very much deeply

A real pleasure to have served with Ric both in VN and in Beaufort afterwards. We went on some memorable XC's and managed to stay below the radar, so to speak. He was a fine officer I was privileged to call my friend.

I'll always have great memories of growing up around Colonel Farrell. Fishing, boating, swimming in the pool, and playing with Tom and Nora. He was a role model that inspired me to start a career in the military and eventually aviation. Great American that will be truly missed. Paul & Karen Beavis

News of Eric's death brought sadness. In spite of the ways we express understanding of the benefits of death brings to our family member and the burden it lifts from primary caregivers there is no denying the painful gap it creates in our lives.
