She was a homemaker to her three children Harold Jr., Carl I (deceased) and Pamela. She also had all of her family spread throughout Brooklyn and Queens thus that making it a difficult decision for her to leave New York. She had a love for the finer things in life: Broadway theatre and traveling. And her biggest joy in life was going around visiting all of her family between the two Boroughs. Her sons, Harold (a Pharmacist) and Carl ( he served in the United States Army) were grown up and then she relocated to Miami, Florida after landing a good job in downtown Miami. She attended school in the evenings to complete her Bachelor's degree in Social Work with coursework from City University of New York, Miami-Dade Community College and Florida International University. Getting her college degree was one of the utmost exciting and uplifting accomplishments of her life. This allowed her to secure work with the Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services (H.R.S.); Department of Children & Families Foster Care and Adoption Services, and the Department of Juvenile Justice. She volunteered to be a parent sponsor for the North Miami Sr. High School Jr. Civitan Club of which her daughter Pamela was president. She was a member Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. Her state career service came to a close when she retired from the Department of Juvenile Justice after serving as an employee with the state of Florida for almost 20 years. She loved her job which involved doing whatever is in the best interest of children so she extended her career after retiring by becoming a foster care mother to many children over the years in Broward County. But what she loved the most was spending time and talking on the telephone with her grandchildren Jared, Carl II (deceased), Ashley, Linsey and Samantha and great-grandchildren Marcus, Marvin, Jahred, Maria, Ashley, Jeremiah, Linsey, Braydon and Brooklyn.
