Denise Jarrett Ellis

Denise Jarrett Ellis, age 58, of Pompano Beach, Florida, passed away on September 22, 2017 with her family by her side. She was born on June 13, 1959 in Atlanta, Georgia to Ray Jarrett and Barbara Shope Jarrett. She lived her childhood in Georgia graduating from High School in 1977. She had a successful banking career at C&S Bank as a banking officer. On September 29, 1991, Denise married Tom Ellis in Atlanta, Georgia. She went on to open Palm Express with Tom as the Vice President where she used her banking skills to help run a successful company. She invited Jesus into her heart at a young age and lived for Him throughout her life, as was evident by her unconditional love for others. Denise was a loving mother to Taylor J (23) and Thomas Jarrett (22). Denise played an active role in the Parent Teacher Fellowship Organization (PTF) at Westminster Academy. She was the President of the Parent Teacher Fellowship and enjoyed heading up fun activities for the students and teachers. One of her favorite events was the fishing tournament. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Ft. Lauderdale, which she regularly attended.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Ellis of Pompano Beach, Florida; daughter, Taylor; son, Thomas; step-daughter, Thea Ellis Ramsey and husband Steve of Macon, Georgia; grandsons, Sawyer and Owen Ramsey; mother, Barbara Jarrett of Pompano Beach, Florida; sister, Deborah Williams and husband Robert of Coral Springs, Florida; nieces, Talia Hunter, husband Chris, and daughter Kenzie of Coral Springs and Tamila Perez, husband Stefan Perez, and daughter Teagan of Coral Springs; brother-in-law, Phil Ellis and wife Annette, and children Aston and Shelby, of Jacksonville, Florida.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 1, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Ft. Lauderdale, 301 E. Broward Blvd., Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
