It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of an extraordinary man. Brian Davis was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He passed away suddenly on May 16, 2022, at the age of 81, in Pompano Beach, Florida.
Brian will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 58 years, Jean. He was a cherished father and dear “mate” to his son, Stuart (Christina) Davis. Proud Granddad to his two grandsons, Declan Davis and Finn Davis. Dearest brother to Kathleen (Bill) Hart, Helen Transue, Carol (Mick) Allison and the late John Davis. Loving uncle to Alexandra Allison, Darren (Megan) Transue, Scott (Airika) Benner, Kurt (Zuzanna) White, Karl (Caroline) White, Deborah, and Steven (Sandra) Davis. Caring friend to many.
Brian was born in Luton, England, UK on April 15, 1941 to the late John and Maisie. After a brief 2 year stint in India, Brian and his bride, Jean, moved to the United States in 1969, where Brian worked for General Motors, as a design engineer for 30 years. Brian and Jean raised their family in Troy, Michigan where they lived for over 35 years before fleeing the cold, harsh winters of Michigan for the sunny paradise of Pompano Beach, Florida full time in 2019.
Brian had a booming voice and generous spirit that made a lasting impression on many. Throughout his life, Brian was active in numerous charitable endeavors. In1993, Brian was awarded the MBE by Queen Elizabeth II in honor of his tireless volunteer work with the Commonwealth Club in Warren, Michigan. Among his many hobbies and interests, he particularly enjoyed home renovation projects, “having a pint” with friends and family, chatting with his grandsons, traveling, listening to the cricket results, and watching English Premier League football.
We will remember you always. Even though we are apart, we will forever hold you in our hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in Brian’s name to ASAN (Autistic Self Advocacy Network).
