Anthony “Tony” Cusanelli, passed away suddenly at his home in Pompano Beach on Jan. 8th, 2022, at the age of 79. Tony was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He began his successful Wall St. career at the age of 17 and rose to partner in a Specialist firm on the NYSE.
Tony retired in 1992 to Pompano Beach and enjoyed his time with his wife of 60 years, Carolyn. Along with his loving wife, he is survived by his two sisters, Libby (Joe) Grillo and Ann (Fred) DeStefano, brother-in-law Frank (Maria) Murray and “lifelong best friend” Joe (Lynda) Dowdell.
He is also survived by his four children, Lorraine (Bob) DiStefano, Anthony Jr., Nicholas (Karyn) and Maria. Tony adored his eight grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as SGP aka “Super Grand Pa”, Marissa (Bill), Cassie, Gianna, Jessie, Anthony III, Nicholas, Mikey and Joey, as well as many nieces , nephews and godchildren.
When not spoiling his wife and grandchildren, Tony could be found presiding over the Pompano Beach Golf Club or reading at his cabana at the Pompano Beach Club. Everyone who met Tony knows he always did the right thing and was a hero for the underdog. Tony, Dad, SGP, Uncle, friend will be deeply missed by all.
