Anna Maggard, 86, passed away on November 4, 2022 in Boca Raton, Florida. She was born on December 5, 1935 to in San Ferdinando di Pulgia, Italy to parents, Rosario Piazzolla and Mary Isermia; making her one of fifteen children. On July 3, 1954 she married Boyce Maggard and they had three boys together.
When Mom came to America, the boat ride was a little rough on her; it kind of scared her because the food they served was hot dog and beans. From that journey, she could not stomach them at all; it would make her sick just to think about it.
Dad was a military man and was stationed in Fort Dix, NJ. One night, Dad was at the local bar with his friends and they noticed a group of guys fighting with another group because they didn't speak a lot of English. They went to help out and afterwards, the guys invited Dad back to their house and he met their sister. That would end up being Uncle Salvatore and Paul.
Mom was the disciplinarian of the house. She loved her boys and did we ever give her times not to love us! However, nothing would change her love for us. She loved our friends every time we would have people over she would roll out the cold cuts or make something to eat for us no matter the time, day or night. Mom had our backs at all times. I have to go deeper.. she loved her nieces and nephews just like her own. The Maggards and the Marinos could do no wrong. She loved her sister like no other; the true definition of two peas in a pod. Mom took in family members when they were sick and needed a place to stay until they were good to go.
She loved cooking - between Mom and Grandma, their cooking was better than any restaurant. Mom lit up when you told her we were going to a casino. Before you took her, she was always moving slowly, but when she stepped foot into the casino she was like lightning - one minute she is there and the next she is gone and you have to find her. When there was parties, Mom and Aunt Tina would always sit back and laugh their butts off on how we all acted and it was a great time.
Mom was a hard worker and a great Mom that was tough and loving. We will miss you until we meet again. Maggards are tough. We may not say we love you all the time, but please know we do.
Anna is survived by her sons, Dennis Maggard, Paul (Kimberly) Maggard and Richard (Sara) Maggard; grandchildren, Denise Osie, Shane (Boedielynn) Maggard, Justin Maggard, Tyler Maggard, Richard (Laura) Maggard, Brittany (Mike) Asman, Jessica (Kyle) Mancusi, Dylan Maggard and Brooke Maggard; great-grandchildren, Jackie and Victoria Amaya, Logan Asman, Leia Maggard, Shane Maggard Jr., Robert Maggard and Justin Maggard Jr.; (relationship to Mom), Salvatore Piazzolla, Lucy Piazzolla, Paul Piazzolla and Pat Piazzolla.
