Angela “Angie” J. Balzano Michel was born July 11,1960 in Elkhart, Indiana to Palma Rosa (Iemma) Balzano and Guiseppe Joseph Balzano. Angie moved to South Florida in the early 1980s where she started her 35 year career at Publix Supermarkets, retiring in 2015. She brought joy to everyone she met and lived life to the fullest. After retirement she dedicated herself to a healthy lifestyle of fun and fitness by committing herself to Pompano Beach Jazzercise as class manager where she enthusiastically greeted everyone who came to class. She loved and spoiled her cat “Rocky,” and deeply loved and nurtured her husband, Michael. She was the best friend a person could ask for. Angie is preceded in death by her father Guiseppe Joseph Balzano and her brother Rocco Balzano. She is survived by her loving husband Michael Michel, step-daughter Danielle (Chris) Michel and was GiGi to granddaughter Gemma; her mother Palma Rosa (Iemma) Balzano, her sister Rosa Nisley, her brother Antonio (Tracy) Balzano, her sister Teresa (Gregory) Kelly, her brother John Balzano, and deeply loved her nieces and nephews. Angie adored her best friend of over 40 years, Doris and her husband Alan Price and lovingly claimed Doris’ children, Jesse (Kendra) Palmer and Sarah (fiance John Vilches) Palmer as her own, along with ‘her grandbabies,’ Kendall and Jason, who called her Grangie. Angie was a bright light who brought joy everywhere she went. She greeted everyone with kindness. Her sense of humor and love of life are lessons from which we can all learn. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-8pm at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, 11:00am, at St. Coleman Catholic Church, 1200 South Federal Highway, Pompano Beach. Interment will follow in Pompano Beach Cemetery.
