It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Dr. Nazir (Ned) Khan, on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Theresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence, in Pointe-Claire, QC. He died peacefully with family by his side.
Most beloved husband of Leila Khan for fifty-six years. Proud and loving father of Lisa and Emile (Kelly). Cherished grandfather of David Têtu and Marley Khan. Adored brother of Kello (Lise), Rosemin (Jameel), Azlema, Cheryl (Dennis), Lynette, Vilma, Sonja, Lenora, Faiz (Sally), Kenny (Rabia), Ashford (Celia), (late) Joyce and (late) Ozzie. Devoted son of (late) Zaitoon and (late) Esau. Cherished friend of Nazim (Aniko) and Alan (Myrtle). Ned will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews, relatives, colleagues and dear friends.
Ned hailed from Trinidad & Tobago as a young man, coming to Canada for medical school. He spent his career as Dr. of Radiology at Montreal General Hospital while also teaching at McGill University. Many speak of his ‘Midas touch’ ability to portray calm and control no matter the situation. “Simple was his way, honesty was his policy, caring was his second nature and lending a helping hand defined his soul.” His deep love for family and friends remains a gravitational force for all lucky enough to have known him.
Being a Husband, Dad and Grampa was his greatest joy.
His other loves? Playing golf, golf and more golf. Besting his bridge partners (gently reminding them of cards they ‘should’ have played, more often than not!). Growing Caribbean peppers for his special homemade pepper sauce – always in competition with his brothers for spiciest. Living down his “Mr. Speedo” nickname!
We are grateful to the staff of West Island CSLC for their at-home care.
Per Ned’s wishes, services are private. Arrangements are with Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home in Pointe-Claire, QC. The family invites you to Add a Memory; every note or story is appreciated.
