Nancy was born on July 6, 1934 in Saint John, New Brunswick, the daughter of Marie and William McCrossin. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jim Shea, her children James (Kristen) Shea of Lyme, Connecticut and Ann (Robert Napholz) Shea of Riverdale, New Jersey, her grandchildren Aidan and Lily Shea and her sisters-in law, Roberta McCrossin and Carol McCrossin, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings Robert “Bob” (Shirley) McCrossin, Lillian (Steve) Schofield, Jack (Roberta) McCrossin, James McCrossin and William (Carol) McCrossin.
She met Jim shortly after he moved from Ottawa to Saint John and they were married on January 4, 1964. After moving to St. John’s, Newfoundland in their early years together, they moved to Pointe Claire in 1970 where they raised their children.
Nancy took great pleasure in her two grandchildren, Aidan and Lily, and enjoyed travelling abroad to spend time with them as they were growing up.
She was an avid reader, loved listening to music and her grandchildren fondly remember her playing the piano for them. Nancy was active in Saint John Fisher Church of Pointe Claire as a Eucharistic Minister for many years. She enjoyed attending church dances and fitness classes and spending time with her many dear friends during summer afternoons at Northview pool.
A service will be held at Saint John Fisher Church on Friday, June 23 at 11 am, followed by a private burial. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 23 at 4-8 pm at Collins Funeral Home in Pointe Claire.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence.
