Demetrios Mitilias

Demetri was predeceased by his father, George Mitilias and his mother Mary Keranis, beloved husband of Eoanna Nantsios, cherished father of Oksana, loving brother of John (Diane), step-brother of Chris Sarena (Rita) and stepmother Ketty Sarena as well as many relatives and friends near and far.

Demetri was born and raised in Montreal and graduated from Lindsay Place High School in 1978 and went on to study communications at Concordia University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications.

He started his first job in radio at CJRL-FM (Kenora) then went on to CJSS (Cornwall) and CFMB (Montreal) as a copywriter and announcer. After several years in the radio industry he started his own company (Fast Forward Video Productions) as a videographer covering family celebrations. He later joined his father along with his brother in building a family run manufacturing business (Mitilias Products Inc.)

Demetri will be missed by his family, friends, employees, business partners and customer., He was often described as a gentle and kind soul with a great appreciation for music and strong family values. Even in his final days he let us know he was thinking of us with a warm smile, and quick wave, or a kind word.

A Visitation services will be held at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home, 222 A 20, Pointe-Claire, H9S 3X6 on Wednesday, March 22nd from 2-4pm and from 6-9 pm AND Saturday March 25th at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church Ottawa, Ontario, 1315 Prince of Wales Drive, Ottawa, ON, K2C IN2 between 12:30-1:30pm

Funeral Services will be held at the Dormition Of The Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church on Saturday March 25th at 1:30 pm. Internment to immediately follow at the Pinecrest Cemetery, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa, Ontario, K2C 3H9

The family would like to thank his CLCS/NOVA palliative care team and the staff at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence for their compassion and care over the past several months.
