My belated condoleance to Norma and family, just found out about the passing away of a good friend  David and wasn't aware of his passing away.Have been searching facebook and internet to find your new contacts without success until tonight. We always stayed in touch and boy did we have a ball going for lunches 2 to 4 times per month when we were both working at CFCF.
During the covid tried calling but the phone number was no longer in service.I'm so sadened that i wasn't able to see you for a respectful goodbye but keep in my heart those good memories and times we shared. Norma iii haven't forgotten your kindness and love for David and send you all my love although late but figured i would write to you anyway late.Condoleance and all my love to you Norma and to your wondeerful family. It is hard to lose a friend like Dave.  What meaning can we draw from his life and from his passing? 
Dave gave us all a message that no matter what happens to you in life, keep a positive attitude and feel blessed for the life you have.  He celebrated each day he was alive.  He shared love with his family and friends.  You could see it in his eyes, hear it in his voice and feel it in his hugs. He loved to chat at our gatherings and was never at a loss for words. His phone chats easily extended past hour but the time flew by.
In so many ways we will all miss Dave's  presence  but he will always have a special place in our hearts. 

Our weekends together at the cottage in Lacolle;
Sitting around the table in the screened-in porch , playing Rummoli and drinking Shandies;
Going to the drive-in movie in Rouses Point…
So many sweet memories, dear David. 
To live in hearts you leave behind, is not to die.
You will always be with us.

Many years ago I went through a difficult period; a six months chemotherapy treatment for lymphoma. Remembering how I had witnessed Dave go through his experience with his kidney transplant, and the difficult period that followed,  was an inspiration for me. He had always kept such a positive attitude; no adversity seemed to faze him or make him lose his smile and his love of life. Thinking of him really helped me during that period.

I regret not having shared this with him.
