Andy was born in Blaine Lake Saskatchewan and grew up in Hafford Saskatchewan. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1951 with a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Toronto where he met his beautiful wife Ann. He started his first job with A.V. Roe Ltd. as a design engineer, working on engine components for the proposed Avro Arrow interceptor aircraft. Andy moved on to work with the Ontario Research Foundation as a research and field engineer, before finally settling in a career spanning four decades with Carthage Machine Company as chief engineer, V.P. Sales, and Senior Consultant. Andy is the holder of two patents for his design work. He was a long-time resident of Beaconsfield, Quebec where he raised his family.
Andy will be remembered as a man of integrity, intelligence, dedicated father and grandfather. He lived life to the fullest and on his own terms. He was steadfast in his beliefs; he was never shy to speak his mind or offer an opinion. He loved life, family, friends, and a good party. Andy will be sorely missed.
The family would like to thank the 4th floor staff at Chateau Westmount for their care and support, especially Lillian and Angela, for their kindness, compassion, and patience.
