He was a devoted and loving husband to the love of his life, Claire Juneau. Claire & Al enjoyed a special bond and 57 wonderful years of marriage. He was the best Dad anyone could ask for to his three children Lynn (Jeff Houston), Diane Parsons and Ray (Karen Campbell), who all loved him deeply. He was a dedicated grandpa to his nine grandchildren, Spencer, Matthew, Graeme, Jessica, Trevor, Emily, Connor, Carter and Kent. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews to whom he was affectionately known as “Uncle Al the kiddies’ pal.”
Allan was born in Montreal as the youngest child to the late Evelyn McCormick and Allan James Sullivan Sr. He was predeceased by brothers Jake (Sandra James) and Bill (Phyllis Rawley), sister Ann and sister-in-law Lily Juneau (Bob Faust). He is survived by his sister-in-law Phyllis Rawley and his brothers-in-law Philippe Juneau (Carol Locke), Robert Juneau (Lucie Doire) and Bob Faust.
Allan’s career started at a young age in transport and logistics. He was well respected in his business career as in his personal life, for his hard work, integrity and honesty. He achieved success as President and CEO of SLW Distribution Centres. He was also proud of his accomplishments as one of the founding members and President of the Canadian Warehousing Association.
He loved weekends and vacations at our family cottage on Lac Archambault in Saint-Donat. He worked hard and played hard! His pastimes included backgammon, cards (especially bridge), and golf - all of which he played with a competitive spirit! He loved boating and watersports in the summer and during the winter, skiing at La Reserve.
In retirement he was a happy snowbird, spending winters in Florida and enjoying Worthington Country Club in Bonita Springs. In summer, he enjoyed being home in Beaconsfield, and golf at Summerlea Golf and Country Club. He proudly shot a hole-in-one at each club.
Due to concerns about gatherings at this time of pandemic, the family has decided not to have a visitation. Please take a few moments to share your stories, memories and pictures via email to [email protected].
