William Courtney Haskett

HASKETT, Dr. William C., age 91, of Plant City, FL passed away on December 8, 2014. Bill was born on January 26, 1923 to William and Lee Haskett in Peru, IN. Bill was a proud Army Air Corps Veteran. In 1944, he married the love of his life, Lu. From 1957 to 1974 he lived in Kalamazoo, MI. Bill has a PhD from Iowa State University and is an alumni of Kansas State University. After moving to Plant City in 1974, Bill became a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Plant City and served as an elder, deacon and teacher. He was looked to as a pillar in his church and was also a member of the Florida Horticultural Society.

He is predeceased by wife, Luemma Haskett; son, William C. Haskett Jr.; and brother, Robert A. Haskett. He is survived by two daughters, Carol Shepard and Barbara Ripple (Richard); one grandson, Stephen Ripple; niece, Judy Wylam and nephew, Rob Haskett. The family greatly appreciates the loving care of St. Joseph’s Hospital, North and Main. Memorial donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Plant City.

A Memorial Service will take place at 10:30am Saturday, December 13, 2014, at First Presbyterian Church of Plant City with the Rev. David Delph officiating.
