Ray Allen Binion, proud veteran, and member of the Apostolic Church of Willow Oak, passed away on August 9, 2023, surrounded by his Wife Wendy B. Binion and Daughter Tia M. Bednarczyk. Ray was born June 7, 1948, to Fred Lelon and Emily Mae Binion, he grew up in Valrico Florida before enlisting in the U.S. Army at the age of 18. Ray valued his military service, was a decorated Vietnam veteran, and had attained the rank of Sergeant First Class serving in the U.S. Army, and the National Guard before retiring from active duty as a disabled veteran in 1990.
Ray was stationed in Alaska where he married Tawnie B Leacock on December 23, 1970, and remained married for nearly 50 years, before her passing in 2020.
On May 6, 2023, Ray was married to Wendy Bebee, and they had recently moved to Mulberry, Florida to start the next chapter in his life.
Ray joined the Apostolic Church in 1976, and since 2016 he has been a loved and respected member of the Apostolic Church of Willow Oak in Mulberry, Florida.
Ray was preceded in death by his previous wife, Tawnie, his parents and his two brothers. He is survived by his Wife Wendy B Binion, his daughters Tia M Bednarczyk, Kimberly L Bogar, and his son Fred L Binion. Ray has four grandchildren, and one great grandchild, from his life with Tawnie. He was recently blessed with 8 more children and 38 grandchildren with his marriage to Wendy. He is also survived by his sisters Pat Kinker and Arlene Wykle, 5 nephews, 4 nieces, and a large extended family.
His loved ones have organized a Funeral service honoring the life of Ray A Binion, and a graveside program honoring his military service. The funeral will be held at the Apostolic Church of Will Oak at 3680 Old Highway 60 Mulberry FL 33860 on August 18, 2023. Viewing is at 9:30 am, service to begin at 10:00. Military Honors will be graveside at the First Baptist Church 3223 Gallagher Rd, Dover, FL 33529 and reception luncheon immediately following at Dover Advent Church 14202 Downing St. Dover, FL 33527
