Phyllis Lea Coutts, 82, of Tampa, Florida went to be with Jesus on December 30, 2021. She was born on August 2, 1939 to the late Edwin and Lucille (Hoffman) Manke. She moved to Ferndale, MI as a child and then later to Royal Oak, MI.
She married Ronald L. Phillips in November of 1958 in Michigan and they moved to Tampa in 1982 where she was the co-owner of Snyder Auto Parts with her husband until 1990.
After the passing of Ronald in 1991, she then married Arthur D. Coutts on August 2, 1993 and remained so until his passing in 2016.
She is survived by her sister; Jeanette Till of Bloomfield Hill, MI, her children; Laura Laisure (Donald), Debbie Modlin (Jim), Mindy Fearon (Korbin), Doug Coutts and Dean Coutts; grandchildren, Darus Laisure, Josh Beezer (Jamie), Jesse Modlin, Rose Laisure, Daira Laisure, Mandie Hunter, Ashley Hare (Andreas), Megan Mezei (AJ), Madison Coutts; great grandchildren, Clara, Haidyn, Hollyn, Matthew, Ethan, Aiden, and Jayden, three nieces; Cheryl, Christine, and Catherine, one nephew; Stephen and several loved grand and great grand nieces, nephews, and other extended friends and family members.
Phyllis loved her Holy Trinity Lutheran Church family in Tampa, Florida. Over the years she enjoyed attending Sunday Worship and singing in the church choir. She was also active in the regular fellowship activities of Bible Studies, Lunch Bunch, workdays and Advent and Lent Potluck meals.
She enjoyed playing cards, swimming and participating in events with her Regency Cove family as well as spending the summer months of Florida in her cabin on Lake Michigan.
She was very passionate about swans. On every occasion she would receive some type of swan from her family and friends.
She loved us all.
A visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Wells Memorial Funeral Home, 1903 W. Reynolds Street, Plant City, Florida 33563.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 3712 W. El Prado Blvd., Tampa, FL 33612.
