Margaret Herring Gibbs, 92 of Plant City, died Sunday, March 11, 2018. A native of Miami, attended Hillsborough High School and has been a 83-year resident of Plant City and the Tampa Bay area. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Plant City. Mrs. Gibbs served as a auxiliary member at SFBH in the hospital gift shop for 30 years and as the manager for 25 years accumulating over 25,000 hours as a volunteer.
She was preceded in death by her husband John T. (Jack) Gibbs, Jr., step-son Dr. Gary A (Gibbs) Bunting, and grandson Doug F. “Gibber” Gibbs; sister Laverne Herring Robinson (TG), and brother Thomas E. Herring. She is survived by a son John “Jack” T. Gibbs III (Liz); a daughter, Peggy Gibbs; grandchildren Ken Gibbs (Debbie), Mary Buzza (Matt), John Wade (Diana) Brad Bunting (Kimberly), Susan Byus (Trey), Carole Wright (Doug), sister-in-law Irene Herring (Tommy): 17 great grandchildren Sara, Anna, Andrew, Paul, Luke, Nathaniel, and Philip Gibbs; Emily and Erin Buzza; Charlotte, Abigail, Sophia Wade; Drew Byus; Lindsey, Hayes, Rowe and Miles Bunting.
The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am at Wells Memorial, 1903 W Reynolds St., Plant City, 33563. The family request in lieu of flowers that donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Plant City, 3309 James L. Redman Pkwy, Plant City, 33566.
