Betty was born on Long Island in Rockville Centre, NY on September 29, 1933 to Paul Sterling and Beatrice Williams Fish. She grew up in Great Neck and later in Port Washington, NY. She attended Allegany College and studied Elementary Education to become a teacher just like her Mom and Dad. After she graduated college, she went back to her hometown of Great Neck to teach before getting married in 1957.
Once married, she lived with her husband Bill in Glen Cove, NY and started to raise their family there before moving to Cold Spring Harbor, NY. Betty is survived by her husband, William John Albert Kohler (94 years old) and their four children; Kathryn Gulemmo, Kenneth Kohler, Kerry Cunningham and William P. Kohler. Betty was the proud grandmother of ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Everyone knew Betty for her love of Knitting and Needlepointing as she used this great talent she had to spread her love by making precious gifts for many family and friends.
Funeral/Chapel Services will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 3024 at Wells Memorial Funeral Home, 1903 W. Reynolds Street, Plant City, Florida 33563 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and Cemetery Service to follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida at 1:30 p.m.
