Donald, known by many as Poppy Donald, worked at CF Industries and as a Millwright. He played baseball in his youth and enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends. Donald had the gift of gab and as such one of his favorite pastimes was telling stories of his many adventures. He was happiest sharing a meal with his beloved grandchildren while wreaking havoc on the servers and other patrons at Fred’s Market or watching his grandsons Ben and Ethan play football/baseball, and his grandson Noah perform in a band event. He also enjoyed having his granddaughter, Kelsey push him around on this walker even though she has been known to accidentally dump him on the ground making him cause quite the ruckus.
He was preceded in death by his brother Michael Williams. He is survived by his daughters; Alicia Rock (Greg) and Gina Raju, and grandchildren; Kelsey Brown Lawson (Dustin), Logan Rock, Madison Rock, Benjamin Pues, Ethan Pues, and Noah Raju. Brothers; Phillip (Janice), Dennis, Larry (Debbie) and Jerry as well as many nieces and nephews. He was excitedly awaiting the arrival of his first great-granddaughter, Mabry Faye.
He was loved by many, and his presence at any event never went unnoticed. His larger-than-life personality will be missed by all.
A visitation will take place on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, 905 W. Terrace Drive, Plant City, Florida 33563 and a Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00 p.m.
