She was saved as a teenager and remained a faithful servant of the Lord. She was a lifelong member of the Mt. Zion Assembly of God with her husband, Joel Walden and were married for almost 70 years. She was a Sunday School Teacher and sang in the choir. She worked with her husband on their dairy farm, and loved to cook for her family and friends. The children loved her hot chocolate which she made with fresh milk. She had a green thumb and loved working in her flower garden around the house. She would be so excited to see the new blooms open.
She will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered.
She is predeceased by her parents; James and Ola B., her brothers; RoyGene, Jimmy, and Roscoe, her sisters; Dorothy, Betty, Irene, Pauline, her loving husband, Joel; her daughter, Rhoda, and her sons; Joel Jr., Phil, and Robert. She is survived by her daughter; Norma Wilson (Lamar), and Marian Walden, sisters; Maxine Weaver, and Barbara McClellan, grandchildren; Mitchell Rogers (Alicia), Kora Varney, Robert Lee, Carmen Pippin (Justin), Heather Wilson, Blane Layton (Brooke), Marissa Warren, Amanda Sapp, Coy Walden (Leann), Coby Walden, Kelsey Walden, Jamie Walden, Brittany Molina (William), Ben Walden, 20 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and many other extended family members and friends.
A visitation will take place on Thursday, November 7, 2024 beginning at 11:00 a.m.at Mt. Zion Assembly of God, 3005 Thonotosassa Road, Plant City, Florida 33565 with a funeral service immediately following at 12:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Sunset Memory Gardens, Thonotosassa, Florida.
