With deep sorrow we announce our beloved mother and grandmother Alberta (Bert) Mildred Clendening, born on November 19th, 1930 in Plant City, Florida, at the age of 93 peacefully entered the heavenly gates to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on December 22nd, 2023.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ruben Clendening and son Raymond Clendening.
Alberta is survived by her sister Helen Steele (Frank), brother Johnny Mattair (Vivian), daughter Sylvia Ferguson (Michael) and daughter-in-law Suzanne Clendening. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Sherri Vogel (Tim), Lynn Bowers, Jr. (Alicia), Michael Bowers (Ellen), Allen Ferguson (Brandy), Michelle Sink (Roy), Jason Bowers (Liza) and Kenny Ferguson (Brandi). Seventeen great-great grandchildren; Ainsley and Jordan Roberts, Joshua and Steven Clendening, Kyle,Lacy, Ramsey, Emma, Stephanie and Kaylee Bowers, Caleb Ascue, Georgia and Joshua Ferguson, Jessica, Hanna, Kimber Vogel and Kristen Johns along with eight great-great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 with a visitation beginning at 10:00a.m. at Wells Memorial Funeral Home, 1903 W. Reynolds Street, Plant City, Florida, 33563 followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at her final resting place, Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, in Bushnell, Florida at 1:30 p.m.
Pallbearers are: Mike Ferguson, Lynn, Mike and Jason Bowers, Danny Stephens and Riley Lovelace.
