Born in Fort Worth, Texas in 1927 to George Alvin Cunningham and Lillian Louise. She graduated from Polytechnic High School in Fort Worth in 1944 and went on to attend North Texas State College and was a member of the San Souci club. After college, she worked in the Oil and Gas business where she was introduced to Floyd Thomas Gates. The two were married in 1948 and purchased their first home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was a loving Mother and Grandmother and is survived by youngest brother, Gilbert “Buddy” Cunningham; three children and three grandchildren, Kent Gates, wife Carla and daughters Michelle and Melissa; Laura Gates Simler and daughter Megan; Kirk; and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, and older brothers George and Jack Cunningham. She was active in the church and served in the Alter Guild and supported her faith by being a member in the Order of the Daughters of the King. She loved to bake cookies for her children, grandchildren, and friends. Visitation for Winona will be on Monday, February 16, 2015 from 6-8 pm at Ted Dickey and funeral service on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 11 am at Ted Dickey in the Chapel with a reception to follow.
