Vera Kathleen Davis

Kathleen Davis went peacefully to be with our Lord, September 1, 2019, at age 98 in Richardson, TX. Kathleen was born in Savoy, TX on September 9, 1920. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, treasured friend, and follower of Jesus Christ. Kathleen served the Lord faithfully her entire life as members of churches in Texas, New Mexico, and Georgia. Serving at Meadows Baptist Church in Plano, TX was one of the joys of her life. She was honored to serve in children’s ministry for 60 years. Her steadfast faith in God and deep love of family and many friends were the hallmarks of her life she called blessed. A lifelong Texas Rangers fan, she loved all Dallas sports teams but her favorite past time was always her family. She is preceded in death by, Burgher Davis, her husband of 61 years, her son, Luther Dee Davis, her parents J.D. and Ada Cotham, her siblings J.B Cotham, Billie Jo Lyles, Edith Rae Vinson, and Virginia Turbyfill. Kathleen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Mike Thomas of Plano, TX, and daughter-in-law, Eva Davis, of Dallas, TX. Kathleen had four grandchildren, Robert and Richard Cranfill, Kelly Hibbard, and Lisa Thomas. She was blessed with nine great grandchildren, Christian, Ryan, Jacob, Elizabeth, Alexandria, Peyton, Ellie, Brady, and Landry. Her extra special blessing was being a great grandmother to Brayden and Colton. She is also survived by her sister, Lora Davis, of Fayetteville, AR.
