Tracy Xin Cui

Tracy Xin Cui, of Plano, Texas, passed away peacefully at home with her loving husband at her side on Saturday, October 28, 2017. Tracy was born, Cui Xin, on Wednesday, May 23, 1951 in the Prefecture of Peng Lai, China, to Peiji Cui and Shuyuan Wang. She was the eldest of five; Tracy, Dejian, Dean, Dezhen, and Dekang.

Tracy lived in the Perfecture of Peng Lai with her father’s mother, who was a highly regarded teacher, because of this Tracy was advanced in her studies for her age. Her family moved to the city of Qingdao, China at ten years old. Upon moving to Quingdao Tracy excelled in Primary School and graduated from the prestigious Quingdao First High School. She would later earn a degree in Industrial Management from the Chinese School of Telecommunications. In China, Tracy began her career as a Master Machinist, after earning her Industrial Management Degree, she moved into the role of Factory Manager, where she was named the Model Worker in Shandong Province. This award is considered a very high honor in China. In America she worked as a technician, machinist, and teacher.

Tracy moved to America in 1989. She changed her name from her Chinese name, Cui Xin, to Tracy, by converting Cui / Tra + Xin / cy = Tracy.

Tracy welcomed her first son, Calvin Ma, while living in China. After relocating to America she welcomed a second son, David Ma. She was a very proud mother and loved her two boys deeply. She met the love of her life while living in America, Richard Truhill, and on Saturday, October 25, 2008 the two married and made their home in Plano, Texas. The couple enjoyed life together. They welcomed a grandson, Eugene, and treasured being grandparents to him. Tracy and Richard recently celebrated their 9th anniversary before Tracy’s untimely passing. Tracy felt comfortable and at home anywhere, but she especially enjoyed family. Her two sons were her world. She sponsored her mother, three brothers, sister, and their spouses and children to come to America so she could be close to them.

Tracy was well versed in Chinese Traditions, due do her lengthy upbringing in China, but she was also very much “Americanized,” and enjoyed the blending of the two cultures with music, food, dress, etc.

Tracy is a Christian, having been baptized at The Church in Richardson, Texas. She later attended The Church in Plano, Texas, for many years. She often cared for the younger children during church service and especially loved watching over the babies. She had a deep belief and faith in Jesus Christ that went beyond her church membership. One of her favorite songs while performing in the Great Land Choral Society was He Never Failed Me Yet; and probably her most beloved song of all was Amazing Grace.

Tracy enjoyed reading and writing. She was a gifted orator and enjoyed teaching children. She loved to sing. She learned to play piano shortly before her passing. She enjoyed playing tennis, walking for relaxation, and even competed in the Senior Games, where she won several medals. She took pleasure in listening to all types of music, both Chinese and Western. She was an accomplished singer and performed for many years with the Great Land Coral Society in concert in several countries, including America, Mainland China, Taiwan, and Austria.

Tracy’s memory will live on in the hearts of all she knew. She was very successful, accomplished, and well-known in China. In America she raised two sons and learned fluent English. She will be remembered as the nicest, friendliest, warmest, and most sincere person anyone has ever met. She loved and cared for everyone she met.

Tracy is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother (1993), father (1994), and youngest brother Dekang (2014).

Tracy will be treasured and loved by those who survive her; Husband, Richard Truhill; sons, Calvin Ma (Ting Guo) and David Ma; grandson, Eugene Ma, mother, Shuyuan Wang; brothers, Dejian Cui (Dianhong Yang) and Dean Cui (Sue Chen); and sister Dezhen Cui (Haidong Zhu) and many extended family and friends.
