Thomas Michael Haigh

Tom was born September 1, 1933, in Glendale, California to parents, Stanley H. Haigh and Margaret Mary Fitzgerald. He grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota and was residing in Richardson, Texas at the time of his passing. While living and attending school in St. Paul, Tom met his best friend and soul mate, Joyce Mayou. They were married June 28, 1958 in St. Paul, Minnesota. They were happily in love for the next 50 years and were blessed with 6 children. When they moved to Texas in 1972, they became members of the St. Mark Catholic Church in Plano, Texas. Tom was able to travel the world, both while serving in the Marine Corp during the Korean War, throughout the US on camping trips with his family, as well as later in life with Joyce.

Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, parents, Stan and Margaret Mary, and brother, Gerald. He was survived by his children, Patrick & Sandra Haigh of Forney, TX; Sheila & Richard Baack of Plano, TX; Valerie & Michael Dutcher of Dallas, TX; Lisa Haigh & Umesh Reddy of Dallas, TX; Michael & Kristen Haigh of Dallas, TX; Matthew Haigh of Richardson, TX; grandchildren, Erric & Julie, Philip, Lance, Tony, Amanda, Tessa, and Danielle & Patrick; as well as his sister, Peg Schuld, and multiple nieces and nephews.

He was a man of great value who walked his truth and a father who left the earth better than it was by raising a terrific bunch of kids. May his soul rest in peace.

Tom has requested that in lieu of flowers that donations to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of Joyce, would be greatly appreciated.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014 at Ted Dickey Funeral Home from 4:00 ~ 9:00 pm, with Vigil Service from 6:30 ~ 7:00pm. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday May 13, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Mark Catholic Church.
