Theodore J. “Ted” Moody, age 64, of Plano, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 23, 2011. He was born on February 10, 1947, in Great Falls, Montana, to the late Clarence and Jewell Moody. Ted graduated high school in 1965 in Libby, Montana. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wyoming and received a Masters of Electrical Engineering and a Masters of Physics, both from the University of Utah. Ted proudly served our country in the United States Air Force for 21 years, retiring as a Captain on July 1, 1987. Following retirement from the Air Force, Ted was employed as a Manager of Engineering Training for Texas Instruments, where he retired in February 2009. He was a Registered Professional Engineer. Ted and his wife, Mary, were charter members of St. Andrew United Methodist Church, where he ran the sound system for several years and played an integral role in starting the Saturday night worship service. Ted enjoyed golfing and had a great interest in computers, as he helped people with computers throughout his life and most recently taught computer classes at the Plano Senior Center. In his younger years, Ted enjoyed fishing, hunting and leatherwork. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. Ted is survived by his loving wife, Mary (Malloy) Moody; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Lisa Moody of North Carolina; daughter and son-in-law, Katie and Jody Dow of Montana; and four grandchildren, Ryan, Ethan, Laura and Kara Dow. In honoring his wishes, Ted will be cremated. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 5801 W. Plano Pkwy, Plano, TX 75093, with the Rev. Charles Stokes officiating. Ted’s final resting place will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Laramie, Wyoming.
