Sandra (Sandy) Dorothy Fairbrother of Plano, Texas, went home to the Lord on August 26, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald, of 54 years, as well as her parents Armin and Evelyn Fischer. She leaves behind her son, Bill, her daughter, Debbie, Debbie’s fiancé, Allan Henman, and her sisters-in-law Nancy Myers and Carol Fairbrother.
Sandy was born on July 13, 1941, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She graduated from Bayview High School, where she developed a love of music and played the French horn. Sandy worked as a housewife, hospital ward clerk, insurance office worker, and enjoyed selling handmade crafts at community festivals. She also donated her creations to various causes.
Sandy was a loving wife, mother, and friend to all who knew her, and was known for her cheery disposition and sense of humor. Her family was her greatest joy in life. She loved her church family at First United Methodist Church Plano where over the years she was active in the Vanguard Class, Chancel Choir, Methodist Women, Stephen Ministry, and Emmaus Community. She was also very active in the community, including Citizens Assisting Plano Police (CAPP), Gideons Auxiliary, PTA, Plano Business and Professional Women, and serving as an election worker.
A memorial service for Sandy Fairbrother will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2pm, in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church Plano with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations to either First United Methodist Church Plano’s Music Ministry (3160 E. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, TX 75074) or Westie Rescue of North Texas (15806 Ryan Lane, Frisco, TX 75035-3651).
