Ruth J. Lilley

Ruth J. Lilley, age 86, of Garland, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2011. She was born on March 22, 1925, in Nebraska, to the late Merle and Gladys Reid. Ruth was very involved in the Garland community over the years. She was involved politically in Garland, holding a membership of the Republican Women’s Committee, served as a voting registrar and worked early voting for several years. Ruth volunteered with Campfire and was a member of First United Methodist Church for many years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Jim. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, James Lilley; son, Shannon Lilley; and sister, Ruby True. She is survived by her daughter, Elzbeth Wilkinson; brother, Walter Reid; two grandchildren, Lisa Stone and Brian Miller, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In honoring her wishes, Ruth will be cremated and a burial of ashes will be held in the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
