Robert E. Pettit, USAF MSgt, retired, age 92, of Plano, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 2, 2023, with family at his side. “Bob” was born on July 31, 1931, in Unionville, Missouri. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Ellen “Marie” Pettit; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Bouchard (Michael), Debra Andrews (Bobby), Elizabeth Robertson (Kenneth), and Roberta Draper (John); grandchildren and spouses, Cian Bouchard (Genea), Candace Lounsbury (Adam), Corinne Bouchard, Bobby Andrews, Charles Andrews, Ashley Cuellar (John), Marc Robertson (Lynn), Mara Gurnea (Jason), Erin Jones, and Michela Tindall (Kyle); and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Lucy Pettit, and his brother, William Pettit, and granddaughter, Kathleen Draper.
Bob’s funeral service will be held at First Christian Church Plano on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a time of visitation with the family in the church’s fellowship hall. Viewing will be available to guests beginning at 10 a.m. for those who wish to pay their respects to Bob prior to the service. Interment at Plano Mutual Cemetery with a military honor guard will occur later that afternoon after a lite luncheon graciously provided by members of Bob’s church of over 50 years.
