Olga V. Withoff, age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 15, 2018, in Plano, Texas. She was born on August 12, 1936, in Taft, Texas, to Juan and Maria (Maldonado) Villarreal and was the eldest of four children. Olga is survived by her three daughters, Erika Cossette (Edward), Stephanie Withoff, and Heidi Goertzen (Leslie); her six granddaughters, Andrea (Erika), Kristal, Amanda, Theresa, Jennifer (Stephanie), and Ginger (Heidi); her four great grandchildren, Korie (Kristal), Jaime, Christopher (Andrea), and Ayden (Amanda); and her sister, Cynthia V. Hernandez (Alfonso). She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John and Arnold Villarreal.
Olga graduated from W.B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi, Texas, and married Daniel H. Withoff, Jr., of Laredo, Texas. They raised their daughters abroad in Mexico, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. Olga enjoyed living and traveling overseas, where she taught her fellow expats about Mexican cooking and served as a high school Spanish teacher in Jakarta, Indonesia.
When Olga returned to Corpus Christi, Texas, she pursued her career in the insurance industry and was involved in a variety of civic organizations through volunteer work. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening and bird watching. Olga was an avid bridge and bunko player who also loved cooking for family and friends. Most of all, she loved spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.
To celebrate her life, a memorial service will be held on Friday, December 21, from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Ted Dickey Funeral Home, 2128 18th Street, Plano, TX 75074. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in honor of Olga V. Withoff.
