She was born on July 20, 1939 to Woodrow and Louise (Clement) Weaver in Denison, TX where she grew up and graduated from Denison High School in 1959. After graduation, she moved to Dallas and worked at Gaston Avenue Baptist Church where she met and married Ted Rogers Miller in 1962.
Nancy became a Registered Nurse after receiving an Associate Degree from Angelina College in Lufkin, TX in 1976. She worked for many years as a school nurse in Diboll, TX and Humble, TX. She was very active in the school districts, serving as a cheerleader sponsor and a nurse for athletic teams. She was also active in the churches she attended, singing in choir and traveling to Brazil for a mission trip.
Nancy had a passion for gardening. After she retired from nursing, she spent much of her time outside tending her plants. She knew how to prune, feed and water the plants until they filled up every inch of the garden. She also enjoyed watching the cardinals, blue jays, hummingbirds and downy woodpeckers that came to visit.
Nancy is survived by her sons Brian Miller of Midlothian, TX and James Miller and wife Daisy of Allen, TX; daughter Mary Carolyn Sullivan of Dallas, TX; grandchildren Megan Miller of Allen, TX and Matthew Miller of Richmond, TX; brothers Perry Weaver of Poolville, TX and Wayne Weaver of Granbury, TX; and sister Carolyn Schubert of Spokane, WA.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents Woodrow and Louise Weaver; husband Ted Miller; and brothers Leo Weaver and Henry Odell Weaver.
A memorial service will be held for Nancy at the First United Methodist Church of Allen, 601 S Greenville Ave, Allen, TX 75002 at 2:30pm on Monday, October 5 (masks required). The service will be live-streamed at https://www.youtube.com/user/FUMCAllenTX/videos/live.
