Michael Alton Hughes was born on April 13, 1951 in Center, TX to Alton and Betty Hughes. Michael received his Bachelor’s Degree from Lamar University. He worked his way up in the oil industry to director of marketing at Penrod Oil. Michael founded Martin Hughes Realty with his wife Peggy and partner Janet Martin. He is survived by his wife, his two sons, Michael Scott and Matthew Wade Hughes, his grandchildren, Megan Loureen and Joshua Scott Hughes, and his brothers David, Mark, and Chris Hughes. He was proud to follow in his father's footsteps as a Shriner. A funeral service will be held for Michael at Ted Dickey Funeral Home on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 2 PM. There will also be a visitation held at the funeral home the night before the service from 6-8 PM.
