Marlene J. Robinson, 82, of Plano, Texas passed away of complications of Alzheimer's Disease on Thursday February 28, 2019, at her home with her children Steve and Linda at her side. She was born July 25, 1936 in Ida County, Iowa.
She is predeceased by her husband Earl Robinson and sister Vonita Shebilsky.
Marlene was a caring and loving woman with great inner strength. If something was bothering her or dealing with difficult times, she never showed it. Whether it was giving a neighbor a ride, helping a sick friend, or donating to the American Red Cross, her compassion and willing to help was just a call away.
Marlene's pride and joy were her grandchildren! She often said, "If I knew being a Granny was this enjoyable, I would have had them first." She always looked forward to visiting her family on holidays and other celebrations. She would go on trips with her 2 best friends, Ruth and Fanny, as well as trips with her family. She was always ready to travel, but she would rather not drive.
As her health started to decline, Steve and Linda decided to return her unconditional love and dedicated their time to come to her aid. Jessica Whitt, her grand-daughter, lovingly and patiently cared for her the past 12 years. The family would like to give her, as well as Forestine Dancer and Mary Ellen McKinney, her hospice assistant and nurse, their greatest and warmest gratitude.
Marlene leaves to cherish her memories, her brother Virgil Bumann; son Steve Robinson; daughter Linda Whitt; grandchildren Melissa Robinson, Mark Robinson, Michelle Thomison, Jennifer Whitt, and Jessica Whitt; as well as a number of great-grandchildren, relatives and dear friends.
Funeral services celebrating Marlene's life will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday March 5, 2019, and visitation 6:00PM - 8:00PM on Monday March 4, 2019. Both services will be held at Ted Dickey Funeral Home, 2128 18th Street, Plano, Texas.
