Margaret Elizabeth English Bush, 81, died Friday September 21, 2018, with her children and family at her side in Allen Texas. Margaret was a resident of McKinney, Texas. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11am in the sanctuary of First McKinney, 1615 W. Louisiana Street, McKinney Texas. The interment service will be held at 1pm in El Paso Texas at Restlawn Memorial Park at on Monday, October 29, 2018. Margaret was born October 30, 1936 in El Paso Texas to the late Joseph and Hilah English. She was a graduate of Stephen F Austin High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a minor in English and Education from Texas Western College of the University of Texas (now the University of Texas at El Paso). Margaret taught school at Irvin and Bel Air High Schools in El Paso Texas. She married Willard D Bush in 1956. They were married for 19 years before divorcing in 1975. In 1976 she joined Philips Medical Systems and held roles in their Northern Virginia and Connecticut offices. She retired after 25 years in the Sales Administration area of Philips Medical Systems. Margaret was a faithful member of First McKinney and of the Naomi Bible Class in McKinney Texas. The Baptist faith and mission work were a part of her family life, in large part due to the fact her great grandfather, John Wicker English, was an itinerant preacher. Margaret learned about and participated in missions programs as a child and later attained the rank of Queen Regent in the Girls in Action (GA) Mission program of the Southern Baptist Convention as a young adult. She was also active in the Women’s Missionary Union (WMU). Margaret had many hobbies including genealogy, civic clubs, reading and sewing. She was a member of the Texas Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), John Abston chapter. She was a member of the Meriden Connecticut and McKinney Texas Kiwanis clubs, the Gaslighters Book Club in McKinney and The Owl Club of McKinney. Margaret is survived by her children, William Bush of McKinney Texas, Catherine and Robert Souza of Meriden Connecticut, Bettina and Michael Ripperger of McKinney Texas and 6 grandchildren; brothers, JV and Joyce English of Roswell New Mexico and John and Carol English of Mesquite Texas; sister/cousin Frances and Jim (deceased) Holt of Hacienda Heights California and numerous nieces and nephews.
