Linda Sue Hurt was born on March 11, 1942 in Hobart, Oklahoma to George “Doug” and Mildred A. Camp. After a short time living in Oklahoma, Linda moved to Borger, TX where she spent most of her early life. Linda graduated from Borger High School in 1960 and went on to graduate from West Texas State University, now West Texas A&M, in 1964. Linda and husband Larry were married in Amarillo, TX in 1968 and eventually made their way down to Plano, TX in 1984. Linda was an Elementary school teacher in both Amarillo and Plano for a total of 18 years. In that time, Linda had children of her own and took some time off from teaching to raise her family. Linda was a Girl Scout Troop Leader in Amarillo and very active in her churches as well. Linda was also an avid seamstress. She made clothes, coats and suits for her family as well as quilting and making gifts for them when she could. Linda loved to go square dancing with Larry and was even a member of the Swinging Stars Square Dancing Club. Linda leaves behind her husband Larry, as well as her children; Suzanne Fisher and husband Don, Jeffrey Hurt and wife Emily, and Todd Hurt and wife Sandra. Linda is also survived by her sisters Fran Fletcher and husband Tom and Beth Hale and husband D.L., her grandchildren Meaghann Dreher and Laurynn Dreher, several nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins as well. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, her son Scott Hurt, and her sister Mary Ann Camp. There will be a funeral service held at the First Baptist Church of Plano on November 14, 2014 at 3 PM. There will be a visitation the day before the service at Ted Dickey Funeral Home from 3 PM to 7 PM.
