Kenneth W. Tucker, 79, passed away in Plano, TX on Tuesday, March 1, 2011. Kenneth Wayne Tucker was born October 24, 1931 in Gloucester City, NJ, the son of Charles A. & M. Etta (Burkeitt) Tucker. He grew up in Philadelphia, PA attending Philadelphia schools. He married Vivian I. Arneson (deceased) on May 29, 1954 in Finley, North Dakota. Ken was a career U.S. Air Force pilot, served in peacetime Korea and during the Viet Nam conflict. He retired September 30, 1969 attaining the rank of Major. Upon retiring from the USAF he became an FAA air traffic controller and later worked for the U.S. Internal Revenue Service until full retirement. He and Vivian traveled extensively while serving in the Air Force and after retirement. They participated for many years in both square and round dancing and were active in the Sons of Norway. Ken and Vivian hosted several AFS (American Field Service) exchange students, with the first being Lupita from Costa Rica. He is survived by two sons; Greg and wife Joanne Tucker of Plano, TX, and Dale and wife Jane Tucker of Fargo, ND, two daughters; Pam and husband Wes Johnson of Eden Prairie, MN, and Kris and husband Steve Lettenmaier of Colorado Springs, CO; a sister; Audrey and husband Ken Millman of Norwood, PA; and a brother Charles, Jr. and wife Janice Tucker of Philadelphia, PA; fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren as well as numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles, Sr. and Etta Tucker, and all of his Uncles and Aunts from both the Tucker and Burkeitt families except a paternal Aunt, Ethel (Tucker) Miller of Elkton, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Preston Meadow Lutheran Church in the name of Kenneth Tucker.
