John Thomas Bailey Sr.

John Thomas Bailey Sr. (Jack) born July 31, 1918 in Coal Valley, Pa. died while sleeping peacefully June 13, 2020 in Justin, Texas. He was 101 years old. Jack married Madeline Jean Eggleston (deceased) August 27, 1945 after serving in the Navy during WWII on a tanker in the Mediterranean Sea. They were parents to three children, John Thomas Bailey Jr and his wife Jan of Justin, Texas, Bonnie Bormann and her husband Jim of Plano, Texas (both deceased) and Edward Ronald Bailey and his wife Joan of Austin, Texas. Jack was also blessed with a step daughter Kate Hanke and her husband Mark of Ardmore, Oklahoma. Jack had ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, three step grandchildren, one step great grandson and three bonus great grandchildren. Jack worked as a manager at the US Steel Fairless Works for 32 years while living in Levittown, Pa. In retirement, he and Madeline moved to Plano, Texas. There he enjoyed travel, bridge, painting, quilting, golf and bowling, all while caring for Madeline. After Madeline’s death, Jack married Arlyne Belter (deceased). He continued to enjoy traveling, bowling, golf and bridge. Upon her death, he moved to the country to his son’s home. There he continued painting and bowling through the age of 101 years. Amongst his siblings, Jack is survived by his brother Donald Bailey and his wife Audrey of Stockdale, Pa. A family service will be held at Ted Dickey Funeral Home 2128 18th St. Plano, Texas on Wednesday June 24th, 2020 at 11:00 AM.
