Jim was a dedicated father and family man. He was devoted to his church. A 1998 graduate of Fort Hill High School in Cumberland, MD, he was a member of the Maryland State Championship cross country team, participated in track and band. Jim attended The University of North Texas, earning a bachelor’s degree in English. After graduation he was employed by 21st Century Insurance and then the Dallas Independent School District. He was an active member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plano, TX and involved in Christ Renews His Parish Men’s Group where he found much support and comfort. His unique sense of humor and caring heart will be missed by all who knew him.
Jim is survived by his wife, Abby (Johnson), their three children, James IV (JD), Elijah and June of Wylie, TX; his parents, Dr. James and Nancy Clark of Wylie, TX; his sister, Elizabeth (Michael) DeRobio and her two children, of Sachse, TX; his aunt, Lisa Zaun of Bath, NY; his uncle, Gary Brockway, of Savona, NY.
Family will receive guests for calling hours, 7-9 pm on Thursday, April 7th at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church at 1201 Alma Dr., Plano, TX 75075. Funeral mass will be celebrated at the same location at 11 am on Friday, April 8th.
In lieu of flowers, Jim requested that friends honor his love of books by making a donation his local library. Donations may be made in memory of Jim Clark to Friends of the Smith Public Library, 300 Country Club Rd, Bldg 300, Wylie, TX 75098.
