Jackie graduated from Phoenix High School in 1948. Jackie embarked on a career spanning over 28 years at State Farm. Her dedication to her work was matched only by her commitment to her family, especially during the years she spent as a single parent. Despite the challenges, she raised her children with an abundance of love and a sense of humor that would become her hallmark.
Jackie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lloyd Holman, her son Duane, sister Anna Lou and her parents, Jackson and Loula May McCarty. Jackie’s legacy extends to her adoring grandchildren, Mitchell, Luke, Meghan, Robert, Dylan, Joseph, and Rachel. Also her brother Semion McCarty, his wife Thelma and her sister Maurine Kemble.
Throughout her life, Jackie found joy in the simple pleasures. She was an avid lover of crosswords, a hobby that provided her with endless hours of entertainment and mental stimulation. Her faith played a significant role in her life, the scripture that always touched my heart to describe her is Mark 12: 42-44 from the King James Version, which speaks to the virtue of giving selflessly, a principle by which she lived every day.
Known by her friends as "Ladybug," a nickname that reflected her loving and cheerful nature, Jackie brought light and laughter to every gathering. Her sense of humor was contagious, and she had an uncanny ability to lift the spirits of everyone she met. She was a woman who lived her life with grace, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to her family and friends.
