Born in Breckenridge, Texas, February 1, 1940. He is preceded in death by his father J.O. Pate; mother Ruth Janelle Pate; and brother Jim Pate. He leaves behind his son, Justin Pate; his daughter, Nicole Pate; his grandchildren, Austin and Emma; and many friends and extended family.
Mr. Pate graduated from North Texas State College in 1962. He then joined the United States Navy and was stationed aboard the USS Enterprise. After serving in the Navy, Jack went on to attend law school at Southern Methodist University and graduated with his J.D. in 1970. He was admitted to the state bar, 1971, Texas; also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, North District of Texas and U.S. Supreme Court. He was a retired law partner with Burleson, Pate and Gibson, LLP in Dallas, TX.
Fraternity: Phi Delta Phi. Member: Dallas and American Bar Associations; State Bar of Texas; Texas Trial Lawyers Association. Advisory Board and Instructor, Family Law, Southeastern Paralegal Institute. Voted as one of Texas’ Super Lawyers.
Memorial Services will be held at Ted Dickey Funeral Home, 2128 18th St, Plano, TX, 75074 on Tuesday, July, 9, 2013 at 1 PM.
