E.J. was born November 23, 1922, in New Orleans to Frances (née Kohen) and Edward Joseph Griffin, Sr. He was the youngest of three children. In World War II, he served in the Air Force and was stationed in Japan. At the close of the war, he moved to Pampa Texas where he became a leader in the home building industry building homes throughout the panhandle of Texas as well as in Oklahoma and New Mexico .In the 1970's he moved to Plano and started building homes in the DFW metroplex.
He traveled all over the world, he never met a stranger,a wealth of knowledge and loved life and loved his family.
He will greatly be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Judy, two daughters from his first marriage to Jerry Nell (née Stinson), Peggy Hughes of Prosper and Cathy Westmoreland of Plano, four grandchildren, and their families.
A graveside memorial service is pending at Plano Mutual Cemetery.
