Edna Warner passed into the arms of Jesus on October 23, 2021 at the age of ninety-eight. From her birthplace of Quincy, IL, she moved to St. Louis with her war time husband, Carl O. Walter, Jr. After five years in St. Louis they moved to Wheaton, IL, to start a new business, Marklite Tape and Label, Co. There they were very active at Bethany Chapel, and Edna was often found entertaining visitors, friends and family alike. After Carl’s unexpected death in 1971, Edna took over the business. In 1977, she married Gordon Warner, whom she had met through the business and with whom she shared a good and full life until his death in 1997.
In 2004 Edna moved to Richardson, TX, and became a faithful member of Town North Presbyterian Church. She is preceded in death by her son, Carl O. Walter, III, in March of 2020. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Sue and Richard Senzig of Richardson and Jan and Stephen Evans of Waco, by her daughter-in-law, Marcia Walter, of St. Louis and her six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Edna will be fondly remembered for her playing the piano for services at Bethany Chapel, for her “monkey bread” on Christmas day, for never missing a birthday of any of her children, grandchildren or great grandchildren, and most of all for her steadfast faith in her Lord Jesus Christ.
A memorial service will be held at Town North Presbyterian Church, Richardson, TX on Saturday, November 6 at 2:00 PM. Interment will be in Wheaton, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions “In memory of Edna Warner” be made to either Town North Presbyterian Church, (1776 N. Plano Rd., Richardson, TX 75081), or to Mission to the World (Account 94942), the international mission organization of the Presbyterian Church in America (MTW, PO Box 744165, Atlanta, GA 30374).
