David was a long time friend, business associate, and fellow sports fan who never gave up on his friends, his teams (or the next sale!), but most of all his family and his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Though David was far removed from Houston and Austin, his Astros and especially his Longhorns were always dear and near to his heart! Like most successful sales people he was extremely competitive and he truly lived for the next "deal"...and despite very hard circumstances he maintained his desire to serve his clients as long as he could. David had a very strong presence in my life and I will always remember the fun games, the "tough" cases, the great meals, and his trust in our agency! David was truly a man of great, deep faith in God! Rest in Peace my friend... 

Dave,you were such a wonderful man. So caring and loving.such a fine Son,Emmitt &Anne were so proud.Such a wonderful Husband &Father &Grandfather & brother & of course friend.We met at The Temple and from that a friendship grew.This too was who you were,"a friend to all,never without time,always giving & caring.Truly a man of Christ,living in the real World,being a Christian in business & your daily life,not to mention the gift you gave through the Vocal Majority & in other ways.To know that you had the good sense to Marry Kathy is just one more Star in your crown!We hoped to meet in the Fall and have that long sought visit,but it was not to be old friend.  So many memories! Many Christmases our families spent together when we were children, and many family reunions after we were adults.  I remember one summer when both our families were visiting grandmother and granddaddy Barrow in California, we were all watching Lawrence Welk, and the Lennon sisters came on to sing. David had a crush on the youngest one, and went up to the TV and gave her a big kiss  on her TV lips. He always had an eye for pretty ladies. We will surely miss him!

Dear Sweet Kathryn and family,
We are so sorry about the loss of David. Through all the years I can remember David was at the Gaw Christmas parties and reunions. Always cheerful with a smile on his face. He was welcoming and kind. Kathryn-you and David were such good examples of love and marriage to the younger ones for fifty years. Thank you for that! Though David is not with us he is not far, and I'm sure watching over you. I wish I could be there Thursday , but I will be in spirit. Please give my condolences to all the Barrow and Gaw families. You are all and will be in my prayers. Love you all so much!! Our condolences go out to David's family at this difficult time.  David was a good friend to my family, especially my mother and sister, for many years.  He will be sorely missed by both family and friends.  Even though he is no longer with us on Earth, we can all take comfort in knowing that David has received a warm welcome in Heaven as he takes his place on the risers and joins the ultimate chorus.
